244. Karl (Kappeschmitt) SCHMITT³⁴ was born on 13 Feb 1882 in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany. He was a "Sportlehrer" in Berlin, Germany between 1909 and 1918. He began teaching in Berlin sometime before 1909. The family lived on Baumschulenweg am Teltow Kanal. He was a hat shop owner (thus the nickname "Kappeschmitt") in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany between 1918 and 1930.³⁷ The shop went bankrupt as a result of Karl's mismanagement. He moved from Berlin to Braunfels with his family in 1918. He was an insurange agent in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany between 1946 and 1980. For many years he had an office in Wetzlar. She was the first female accountant at Buderus between 1940 and 1945 in Wetzlar, Lahn, Germany. Dates unknown; during WW II. She died on 15 Jul 1967 in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany.
