The following, written by
Ariel, is an explanation of something I noticed when reviewing the
video: the individual clips somehow got out of order; thus, the
sentence I had included, based on the video (I wasn't at this
game), "Our first
try of the tournament began with Ariel looping Tabetha and feeding
Josie, who took her defender to the outside," which I'd observed
on the video (I hadn't been at the tournament) was not our first
try.
From Ariel:
"Game 1—The video is somehow messed up, I realized
after watching it as soon as I got back from Vegas. We started
out first game facing towards all the other fields. (Which
means the bleachers would be on all of our, the players, left
side.) This means the second half is with the bleachers all on
our, the players, right sides. Therefore, and with my memory,
Josie did not score the first try of the tournament. I believe
it was Lauren. Ida kicked the ball down field within the first
10 seconds or so of the game. We eventually had a scrum, in
which I believe the video you have uploaded at 1:07 is the
earliest point of the entire clips of our first game tries. As
you can see from the video Lauren scores off of that.
Following that try should be Kelly’s try, which happens to
somehow be at 1:05, right before Lauren’s try (actual first
try). It’s odd how the videos got mangled like this, but I
know this must be the case because when Josie scores, Rhi is
in. Also when Rhi scores we’re facing away from all the other
fields, the bleachers are on our right, and Rhi DID NOT start
this game.( Lauren started wing). She came in sometime in the
second half of the game. Which means the beginning of the
video is actually the second half of the game. Also, I
remember this exactly because I set them both of before they
scored and that didn’t happen in the first half of the game.
"Game 2— Once again, the video is opposite. I’m sure it’s less
important as the first one because it wouldn’t be the ‘First
Try of the Tournament’ or anything. However, just to keep
things clear for you, The first two trys on this clip are
actually the second half. And the rest of them are all the
first half. I remember correctly because I scored in the first
half of the game, Lauren who started set me up with the ball.
The video Dana had sent us first shows us facing all the other
fields, however, Rosie is in at that point and Lauren is not,
which means it’s the second half because Rosie didn’t start
but Lauren did. So the first half of the game we start off
facing away from the other fields (bleachers on our rights)
and the second half (which is up first in the video) is when
actually face the other fields, bleachers on our left."
