The migration of Emilito's "New World" families began
with the
immigration to Cuba of Victorina GRACIANI LORENZO, four of her five
children - Domingo, Josefa [Pepita], Jorge and Isabel BESTEIRO
GRACIANI/GRACCIANI.
Later Victorina's first cousin Joaquina
LORENZO GÓMEZ, and finally Victorina's nephew and niece, Emilio
and Manolita GRACIANI SÁNCHEZ would complete the first
generation. Pepita moved to the US, Jorge returned to Spain, and the
rest began families in Cuba.
Emilito recognizes that family trees can get pretty complex, but
nevertheless will provide 4 generations to show where we all came
from. The two common ancestors for all our family that migrated
to Cuba were Venancio LORENZO and Feliciana BLAS, most likely born in
Villar del Cobo (Teruel), Spain sometime around 1800. Well,
that's not exactly true - these are all "Maina's side" [Josefa BESTEIRO
GRACIAN] of the family. On Papa's side [Antonio LAGOS TOLEDO] it
was only he and his brother that came over, so there's only one
Lagos branch (and with the death of Paquito LAGOS GRACIANI that branch
corresponds exactly with Pepita's branch). At any rate, starting
with Venancio and
Feliciana, and listing 3 generations of descendants, we get to the
first immigrants of each branch.

People in bold are those that were born in Spain, moved to the New
World and stayed there. Emilio GRACIANI SÁNCHEZ, in green,
moved to Ecuador where he died, and Pepita BESTEIRO GRACIANI in red,
moved to the USA where she died. The rest, in blue, died in
Cuba. Those in black died in Spain.
Antonio and Manuel LAGOS TOLEDO, Besteiro-Graciani, & Lorenzo
families began in 1905 and was
initially completed around 1907 [we don't yet know or whenever Joaquina
arrived] . . . The future heads of families that arrived were Domingo,
Josefa [Pepita], Jorge and Isabel Besteiro.
