64. Jacob DESCH^193,194 was born in Germany. Original unsourced data said 1851 in Frankfurt. This cannot be true based on the date of birth of his son Jacob. He immigrated before 1865 to Phoenixville, PA, USA.¹⁹⁴ Jacob Desch said about 1866, but it must have been before his son's birth in 1865. "The correct spelling for my grandfather is Jacob. His father's name was spelled Yakob but it was spelled on the ship's list as Jakob." Jake Desch also adds that, based on information from the Phoenixville (PA) newspaper, local companies would go to Europe to recruit workers. They paid for their transportation and they had to work for a period of time to pay them back. Jacob DESCH and Mary Ellen ZELL were married.
