Note of 2013: This squad
comprised 14 U-23 players, led by more experienced
teammates. What follows is an article I wrote for
submission to Rugby Magazine.
Atlantis Women Win Magnificent
Sevens in Toronto
Led by speedster Pat Neder, a team comprised
otherwise of entirely U-23 players defeated their teammates in a
game worth a total of CAN $1450 to the two finalists.
Neder was the difference in the final match, pretty much a wash
except when she found space. The final score was 17-5 with
Neder having all 3 tries for the “Cotton” team while Jen Sinkler
scored the only “Nylon” try. Neder, with 11 tries, and
Sinkler with 10, were the try scoring leaders of the two Atlantis
teams.
Total scores for the five matches each team played were 129 for,
20 against for Cotton, and 111 for, 32 against for Nylon.
