Manager: Joe Kelly Sr.; Coaches: Joe Kelly Jr. & Omar Rivera

Atlantis, coached by Joe Kelly, Joe Kelly Jr (Penn St injured) and the famous Omar Rivera (Atlantis #520) compiled an extremely strong team made up of local athletes who came through Greenwich's local 7s programs and now play for some of the best college rugby programs in the country.  Eight formerly played for Greenwich HS 7s, 2 Play Rugby USA alumni.  One Ridge Rugby and a Fairfield Prep product all contributed. Everyone has either played with and/or against each other over the years at the high school level.

Atlantis 36 New Blue 5.  The boys came together on the day and had to figure out how to make a team out of 12 players from 12 different schools. The first game was against New Blue and as if they have been practicing for months it all came together. Atlantis over New Blue 36-5.

Atlantis 55 Mitchell College (CT) 0. The boys really started working together for a resounding victory.

Atlantis 50 Stony Brook B 0.  Stony Brook, as always, was well coached, but their second side was overwhelmed in this game.

Atlantis 31 McGill University 5. This was a nice victory as McGill is an outstanding team from Montreal.

Atlantis 24 Stony Brook 12.  Well prepared by legendary coach Jerry Mirro (Atlantis #14), Stony Brook easily found their way into the finals.  The final match was exciting and close until Atlantis finally pulled ahead for the victory.

Joe Kelly has now organized and coached two different Atlantis Collegiate Men's teams, and their record is 10-0, with two NY Sevens championships.  In those 10 games, points for 330, points against 38.  Not too shabby.

Here's the team at the victory station:
