Generation 4
Maina, who died in February 1968, lived to see the birth of 4 of her
great-grandchildren: Mike and Jeff Lagos, Tracey Vreeland, and Kathleen
Carr. By the end of that year, with Buzz Lagos's marriage to
Sarah Beasley, the generation grew and it didn't stop growing until
Michelle Naspinski Lagos (Ubben) announced, after the birth of her son
Jack in 2000 that the generation was "closed."
If this were an exercise in strict genealogy, where only blood
descendancy were counted, we would say that Maina and Papa had 33
great-grandchildren. Because this is, in contrast, a familiy
history, and therefore Emilito has listed all 48 people that we,
Lagoses all, consider members of that generation. There are
legitimate reasons that people might want to distinguish these groups,
but Emilito has chosen not to do that in the listing below. All
48 members of generation 4 are listed, along with the corresponding
parent, grandparent and great-grandparent from the Lagos line.
The generation 1 ancestor is Antonio in all cases. Although he
could equally have said Josefa, Emilito sticks here with the
patriarchal naming conventions of our society.
Also listed, to illustrate the continuing geographical spreading
of the family is the state of residence of the 48 members of the
generation.

Emilito's documentation of the US Lagos history, begun with the
immigration of Antonio Lagos, his wife Pepita, and children Carmen,
Manuel and Victorina in 1912, ends here, with the 4th generation and
the number of their children as of 1/1/2005. The history itself
will
go on, and while Emilito will be happy to make minor updates in the
near future, hopefully a new historian will be found.
